The Book of D
The Book of D is a project that explores the aesthetic appeal of the letter D in both lowercase and uppercase forms. Following a brief written history, this project (in tangible form, an accordion book) consists of four panels displaying figures and forms made out of this letterform. These forms and figures study both the structural qualities and artistic potentials of the letter D. This piece was completed in January 2011 as the first project for an advanced typography class at the University of Minnesota.
